Agave Taco Bar

Location: Austin, Texas

What: Taco, Texmex

Overall experience: 10/10

This place is so stinking cute. It reminds me of a taco place in Austin that I loved. It was squished between a few different buildings but they had indoor and patio seating. People would come from all directions with their pets and hang out. There was a bunch of street parking available if you went on a random Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. But Thursday, Friday and Saturday parking would be more difficult.

It was in what seemed like a little shopping center in the middle of the town. There was a grille out there, some local shops, a few haircut places, and housing agents. Plus if you went around the neighborhood, you would see all of these amazing, beautiful, and cute houses. The entire neighborhood had a bunch of greeneries, with tall trees canopying the streets. It was perfect for a spring or summer day when it's nice and sunny out.

I got to the bar a little earlier than expected so I walked around the shopping center a little before finding a seat out on the patio. They had electronic menus, which were great and easily accessible. They had a good selection of food for a good price. They had a pretty good happy hour as well. They have marks and some selective seltzers that are on happy hour from 3-6 during the weekdays so it would be nice to stop after work and drink a bit.

Their food was… how do I put this… PHENOMENAL. I got the nacho appetizers to start with some meat that I don't remember what it was called. But it was so good. The chips were crispy and the flavor was on point. The cheese and grease from the meat didnt overwhelmed the dish and didnt soggy the chips. I then got the Al Pastor street taco and it was delicious. I wanted 15 and then I wanted a to-go order. But I only got one. Huge mistake. It all tasted freshly made, with the perfect amount of spice, not too overwhelming.

If you make your way to Glendale, you should really consider stopping by this taco bar and then doing a little bit of shopping.
