Location: Austin, Texas
What: Coffee Shop/Bar
Overall experience: 10/10
Located in Austin Texas, this little coffee shop is hidden right off the highway. It was masked in an old house that is converted into a cute little coffee shop. I found it on a drive while I was visiting and needed coffee as soon as humanly possible.
As I was pulling into the coffee shop, it looked fairly small but it is anything but. There are multiple parking spots in the front and there is more parking in the back area. The entire parking situation is great, but I can see how it could have the potential to be problematic if it was incredibly busy. There is also a fence surrounding the entire property that is painted in many different fun colors and artwork. It is incredible.
As you walk into the coffee shop, you can tell that it is still small. Obviously, it's a converted house so there just isn't a lot of space for ordering and long lines. But each room is painted differently and there are local artists featured. It seems that they really like to support local artists and small businesses around the community. Outside, there are plenty of places to sit and there are local food trucks that alternate dates and times of being there to help feed customers.
The coffee is really good. I ordered a blueberry matcha something something and it was really good. I've never had matcha but I heard that it has some caffeine in it so it was nice. Later in the day, the coffee shop turns into a bar and they have many local and craft beers available during that time. I've only been once but it was such an incredible experience. Everyone was friendly, many drinks were provided and offered, and it seemed like a great place to just relax and read a book or bring friends to catch up.
