Mini Blog: Picantes

**I did not take the photos below. I took them off the internet. thank you to the photographers who were willing and open to sharing these photos.

Picante's is a local Mexican restaurant located in Lubbock, Texas. It is a very quaint, cute place to stop and grab some tacos before you go to the game or you go to a house party. Let me tell you! These are probably the best burritos I've ever had in my life.

I've never had anything bad here but I will turn you on their breakfast burritos. You can stuff them with whatever your heart desires. Each extra item is like $0.50 or something. So I like mine with eggs, cheese, bacon, and chorizo. Then… THEN! You can add queso for $1 on it.

One of these burritos is the size of a takeout box and they are stuffed. Plus with the queso, there's most likely no more room in the takeout box for an additional stuff. It was only a couple of bucks and it often fed me 2 or 3 meals in college.

The exterior and the inside are a little rough but it is to be expected since it is located in a college town. It's best if you order online or call ahead and then go pick it up. You can eat it anywhere… But make sure you get some utensils because you don't want to be eating these with your hands. Even if you don't get the queso or salsa on top of it, it will spill everywhere and you will want to eat it.

I haven't been to Lubbock in a few years. I still DREAM about these burritos. The next time I'm driving through or somewhere close, I will be stopping for some Picantes.
