Sweet Eugene is a cafe located in College Station, Texas. This is the perfect college town coffee shop. Each room is decorated a little differently. Each room seems to have a theme with different colors, photos, light fixtures, and kinds of seats. Along with the different themes, there are so many different kinds of plants, books, games, couches, love seats, chairs, and beanbag chairs. The walls were carefully decorated with differences in each room, such as law books in one room, an old-time coffee machine in another, and student artwork in another room. There was a little piece of history on the display throughout the coffee shop, such as information about the owner, history of coffee, history of this company, etcetera.
There were so many different options to sit for students who needed to study. Many outlets to help charge computers. Comfortable seating for long hours of reading or writing. While I was only there for such a short time, so many students came in and got down to work. Many were chugging coffee and a pastry while also reading law books, completing algebra, or studying for finals. It wanted me to want to go back to school somewhere close to this coffee shop just so that I could participate in the student atmosphere here.
There were a lot of coffee options that I was overwhelmed with when I was looking through the options. When it was my time to order, I felt so much pressure because I didnt know what I was going to choose that I just blurted something out. I just got a regular house coffee with room for cream. This isn't something that I would typically choose in a coffee shop (I'm more of a cappuccino girl) but it honestly wasnt bad. It wasnt as strong as I would have liked but there was a good flavor and hints of hazelnut. I realize that I do in fact like my coffee to be super strong.
There was also a huge case of pastries. A wide variety of donuts, muffins, cookies, scones, and bread are all made fresh. It was incredibly overwhelming. I got a blueberry cake donut. It is probably top 3 best things I've ever tasted. It was jaw-dropping, coffee spitting, A+++ quality donuts. I can see myself spending an entire Saturday relaxing, drinking coffee, and eating my weight in pastries while reading a book or writing.
You have to check this place out.
